The victim is Latoy Brocks, and the carjacking was executed a month ago. On July 11th, Latoy Brocks took her lunch break and drove into a parking lot of a Dunkin Doughtnuts. Latoy Brocks then said that after doing so, someone tapped on her window with a gun. The carjacker then took her purse, cellphone, and hospital badge. The carjacker drove her into a parking lot across the street in Brocks’ vehicle, while another car followed closely. The carjacker told brocks to get out of her stolen car, and into the following car. Brocks realized that the car following them was not there, so she took her chance and ran. A detective told the court that after Brocks escaped, he tracked down Brocks’ car using a GPS to a Detroit funeral home. There, he made arrests based on the GPS. The two suspects, Troy Oakes and cousin Ricky Rivers were being tried at the court, both of them 17 years old. Both suspects confessed to the crime.
